It is built along the mountain trail from Shin-Hotaka Onsen, which climbs to Mt Yari-gatake.
It is also about halfway between the elevations of Shin-hotaka Onsen of approximately 1,100 m and 3,180 m of Mt. Yarigatake.
There are fewer people walking compared to the route to Mt. Yarigatake, which starts from Kamikochi, and it is a great place to spend the night without heavy crowds.
